Sneezing…Headache….

A sneeze is a semi-autonomous, convulsive expulsion of air from the nose and mouth. This air can reach speeds of 70 m/s (252 km/h or 157.7 mph). Sneezes spread disease by producing infectious droplets that are 0.5 to 5 ??m in diameter. About 40,000 such droplets can be produced by a single sneeze. Moreover, it is difficult for one to sneeze with one’s eyes open.
Quote from Wikipedia.

A headache (cephalalgia in medical terminology) is a condition of pain in the head; sometimes neck or upper back pain may also be interpreted as a headache. It ranks amongst the most common local pain complaints.

The vast majority of headaches are benign and self-limiting. Common causes are tension, migraine, eye strain, dehydration, low blood sugar, and sinusitis. Much rarer are headaches due to life-threatening conditions such as meningitis, encephalitis, cerebral aneurysms, and brain tumors. When the headache occurs in conjunction with a head injury the cause is usually quite evident.

Treatment of uncomplicated headache is usually symptomatic with over-the-counter painkillers such as aspirin, paracetamol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen, although some specific forms of headaches (e.g., migraines) may demand other, more suitable treatment. It may be possible to relate the occurrence of a headache to other particular triggers (such as stress or particular foods), which can then be avoided.

Windows Mobile 6 Standard upgrade for Samsung SGH-i600, true or false?

In the search for more information on the i600, I came across a site with a review of i600.

Claims by a website:
Samsung recently announced that existing i600 owners will get a free upgrade to the new Windows Mobile 6. The update will be released on May 26th for testing, after which it will be available for current users to download. The important features in Windows Mobile 6 include Voice Command, Windows Update, Microsoft Office Mobile and Windows Live….

The site didn’t state any info on when/where/how Samsung announced tho.

On the other hand, I have also came across a few discussion group and site claims WM6 STD upgrade will/should only be released by Samsung on the US release i607 (Blackjack) but not the others (i600 for the rest of the world, with different Band and Wifi)…

True? or False?
26 of May, not long to see…

Honest, with the limited OMAP 220MHz CPU on the i600, if the WM6 upgrade speeds up the device, I am more than happy for an upgrade (Many source do consider and thinks WM6 STD sounds very like SP2 of WM5, which bug fixes, and speed up the OS other than a large upgrade with big difference on the OS core.), or if it is the other way round, like all M$ updates that slowwwwwwww the device down (Looking on the WM5 upgraded hx4700 on the desk), hum……

Removing Favorite Contacts from Carousel Homescreen on Samsung SGH-i600…

The Samsung SGH-i600 comes with a very nice looking Homescreen call “Carousel”, it allow user to easily add more function to the homescreen of the i600, example: Window Media Player control, status; Missed Call, SMS, Email notice; Upcomming Appointments and Profile Changing..

One of the function is adding a custom selected Favorite Contact entries shortcut to the homescreen.

It was a nice feature allowing me to dial with a single click, but after I added my entry to the screen, I was not able to find how to remove it from the Carousel homescreen, went thur the user menu and don’t think it was mention either……….

By some searching around, I find the solution on a user forum, the remove option is listed when you go:

Contacts->Select the target remove entry->Click on Menu->Select “Remove from Favorites”…

Think Samsung should really do better on the user interface, you just can’t expect user to go thur all that many steps to remove a setting…

Application unlock the Samsung SGH-i600

Like many Windows Mobile devices, the Samsung SGH-i600 I have here was application locked.

Application Locked means user cannot install application that have not digital-signed on the device, which in the case, many application does not have them, as the digital-signed process is very expensive from M$, and certain registry entries are also locked by default which cannot be changed when device is application locked.

By using an application call “SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe”, you should be easily find it by google, user can easily application unlocking their Windows Mobile devices.

This is an application to be run on your PC, with you WM5 device connected by USB with your PC, executing the SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe, select unlock and reboot your WM5 device and device should be application unlock.

A bit of reminder here is some user has report this application fails to unlock the device, which seems it was related to when USB hub connection instead of direct USB connection is used, so please try connecting the device with your PC directly if you have any problem.

Routing and Remote Access error in WinXP Part II

Made a post about Routing and Remote Access error in WinXP sometime ago, and I have yet another error currently with “Routing and Remote Access” again…..

This time the error from the EventLog was:
“The Routing and Remote Access service terminated with service-specific error 16389 (0x4005).”

A little bit Google-ing gave me an official answer and fix from Microsoft.

You cannot start the Routing and Remote Access service on a Windows 2000 Server-based computer or on a Windows Server 2003-based computer

Problem seems to be related to the Internet Authentication Service (IAS) database damaged in one of the system crash.

Followed the site and yes it did fix the problem, and my VPN server is now back up running again.
