On my earlier post Estimated 5 Days…. New gadgets coming.. I mention I was ordering my toy of the year and it turns out to be great disappointment…
The saga was:
I was ordering this little baby from a company call expXXsys HK an international electronics and gadgets importer (you know that one), I called them when I place my order to confirm that I would like to pay by my credit card when the item arrive, and was told no problemo by staff…
I was so looking forward for the shipping day, which was stated on their system as 13 June 2007, I almost check the page every single day, and called a few times to make sure the order goes well..
On 9 of June, I notice the shipping date stays at “Estimated 5 days”, so I called them again on 11 (they don’t work on Sat), and the conversation is as the following:
utp: Hi, my order number is XXXXXXXX, and I notice that the estimated shipping date for my order has stopped counting, was there a delay?
expXXsys: ar……….let me check…….(phone on hold for 5 mins) sorry to tell you that we don’t seems to be able to ship your order…
utp: What??? Why is that?
expXXsys: O…………ar………..we actually do not have this item in stock…
utp: Why? I did my order 2~3 weeks ago and I called in a few times and was told it is shipping this week…
expXXsys: Ar…….actually we don’t have this item in stock….and…..ar………..see all stock that we are shipping right now was fully paid backorder from January…and you haven’t pay yet! (o yeah, my fault?)
utp: I called in a few times about my order, and I already mention a few times I would like to pay by my credit card when the item arrives, and never was told there is any problem, so how can this be??? (Deeply disappointed)
expXXsys: Well………ar…..maybe the staff wasn’t so clear about your case then…
utp: Well……….I think that is so disappointed, your staff should notice the issue……… Anyway, ok thats fine, I understand there is nothing much I can ask for if you do not have it in stock now, but I still would like to backorder, so what lead time of shipping date am I looking at?
expXXsys: Hum………ar…………..we have no idea…… (chomped repeating the above “January full paid backorder” statement..) If you would like to backorder now, you can pay the item and we put you in the queue of backorders
utp: That just doesn’t make sense, if your company already know you are now shipping only January backorder, whats the point of having a sign of “Estimated 5 days” on the order and my order tracking page?? See I have been waiting 3 weeks to be told you don’t really have it in stock, and even no expected shipping time?
expXXsys: o, yeah, we cannot give you a firm shipping date even you order, see it all depends on do we get stock from the manufactures …
utp: so whats the point of backorder? to be honest I did a little bit of googling before I made the order, the comment on ordering from your company was not so positive, but I cannot imagine it can go this bad….
expXXsys: ………………….. well so do you still want the order?
utp: (haha) well, if people made their full paid backorder on January and get their item at June (I wonder who did, would you??) does it means I get my order in Dec? no thanks, I think you can cancel the order….
expXXsys: ar………well ok then…………..
utp: ………………..
Phone cuts off…..
3 weeks wasted, and not so (or so not?) “professional” service was given….well….
I promise I am NOT GOING TO ORDER from this company anymore!
Anyway, I made my order from another company, and they do FedEx to my home in 3 days from US…that was another funny story, but at least, I made my order, with almost same price, and way better service!
